A very rare and stunning vintage 1991 15-year-old Nikka Yoichi single malt whisky from the famous Yoichi distillery near Sapporo in Japan, a place made famous by winter sports. The special Yoichi Japanese single malt whisky was distilled on 25th February 1991, matured for over 15 years in a sherry cask with the cask no. 129445 and was bottled on 1st November 2006 without the addition of colourants and chill-filtration at cask strength 63.0% vol. exclusively as a 750ml bottling for Bar Cask Tokyo and The Whisky Fair Limburg in a limited edition.
The special Nikka Yoichi Single Cask bottlings were predominantly only available exclusively in the distillery shop of the Yoichi distillery on the island of Hokkaido, there are only a few bottlings for retailers or for special whisky events in Europe and only very few bottles of this special Japanese whisky have found their way to Europe. The renowned whisky expert Jim Murray ranks Nikka Yoichi single malt whisky among the six great malt whiskies of this world.
