A very rare and stunning 25 years old Nikka Yoichi Genshu single cask whisky from the famous Yoichi distillery near Sapporo in Japan, a place that has been known by winter sports. The outstanding Japanese Yoichi single malt matured 25 years in a (sherry) oak cask with cask no. 209239 and was bottled in a limited edition at cask strength 62.0% abv in 180ml and 500ml bottles without added dyes and chill filtration only for visitors to the distillery.
The special Nikka Yoichi Genshu single cask bottlings were only available exclusively at the local distillery shop of the Yoichi distillery on the island of Hokkaido and only a few bottles of this unique Japanese whisky found their way to Europe. The renowned whisky expert Jim Murray ranks the Nikka Yoichi single malt whisky among the six great malt whiskies of the world.
