A very rare and exceptional vintage 1939 Old Elgin Fine Old Malt Scotch Whisky 40.0% abv by Gordon and MacPhail, probably bottled in the year 1984-1985 and named after the largest city in Speyside, Elgin Castle and the hometown of Gordon and MacPhail.
Since the 1980s Gordon and MacPhail have been presenting special single malts in the Old Malt Edition from selected distilleries such as Ayrshire, Balblair, Banff, Brora, Bunnahabhain, Clynelish, Coleburn, Convalmore, Glen Albyn, Glen Mhor, Glencraig, Glenesk, Glen Grant, Glenlochy, Glenrothes, Glenury Royal, Highland Park, Linkwood, Littlemill, Lochside, Longmorn, MacPhail s, Millburn, Mortlach, Miltonduff, Old Pulteney, Port Ellen, Pride of Strathspey, Rosebank, St. Magdalene, Strathisla, Tamdhu and many other well-known distilleries in limited editions.
This unique Mystery Malt therefore contains at least 45 years old single malt, is without question an absolute rarity and is today one of the very few remaining vintage bottlings from the year 1939!
