A very rare vintage 1993 over 8 years old Old Forester Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey at 48.0% vol. and the 5th release from the year 2005 of the limited birthday edition from the Brown-Forman distillery in Louisville Kentucky. For this fine Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, Brown-Forman used a different barley malt supplier and the new barley produced a slightly lighter body than usual. The barrels for this exclusive bourbon whiskey were stored on the 7th floor of warehouse H, where they were exposed to extremely warm temperatures and dry conditions. The lighter body and storage condition resulted in a higher than average loss of Angel's Share, which concentrated the rich notes of toasted and charred oak.
A favorite among critics, Old Forester Birthday Bourbon has taken home gold from numerous tasting competitions including a gold medal in the 2005, 2006 and 2007 San Francisco World Spirits Competition. The 2007 expression was also named American Whiskey of the year at WhiskyFest New York.
