An incredibly rare and very significant vintage 1983 10 year-old Port Ellen Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky at 43.0% vol. from the Scottish wildlife selection by Signatory Vintage from the year 1993. From the early 1990s to 2000, Signatoy Vintage have produced special single malts from selected distilleries for the Scottish Wildlife Trust, such as Aberfeldy, Balmenach, Imperial, Glenturret, Mortlach, Port Ellen und Strathmill in limited editions with images and descriptions of the Scottish wildlife. This was part of a now-famous series of early Signatory bottlings from which a donation was made for each bottle sold to the Scottish Wildlife Trust, and features a lovable otter on the label.
This old bottling of the Port Ellen 10 Years Single Malt Scotch Whisky from the eraly 90s and the transfer printed Otter labelling is rarely found today. The otter is a member of the weasel family rarely seen now except in deserted coastal areas and on off-shore islands, mainly in Scotland.
