A rare vintage 1983 22 year old Port Ellen Islay single malt Scotch whisky 46.0% vol. from the McGibbons Provenance Special Selection edition by Douglas McGibbon, which was distilled in spring 1983 and bottled after over 22 years of maturation in a selected sherry butt with the cask no. DMG 2102 without the addition of colourants and chill filtration in the summer of 2005 in limited edition.

On the nose, the exquisite vintage 1983 22 years Port Ellen Islay Single Malt Scotch whisky shows a wonderful combination of sea, fruit and the typical salty and maritime notes with the fine nuances of the maturation in the sherry butt. The flavour is dry with a peppery note, oysters, seaweed and sea salt, lemon, mirabelle plums, candied orange peel, cloves, aniseed and subtle oak, the finish is medium-long, smoky, round with salt, vanilla, oak, leather, iodine and seaweed - a successful and typical Port Ellen Islay single malt!
