A rare and exclusive pure vintage 1988 Remy Martin Premier Cru Cognac from the from the harvest of a single year of the Grande Champagne Cru region, which has been matured in selected Limousin oak casks and was bottled in the year 2006 exclusively for the travel retail market in a limited edition with a special bottle-design and black wax capsule at 45.0% vol.
The year 1988 was marked by strong rainfall, the high humidity affected the development of the vineyards and caused a limited harvest, but on the other hand the grapes showed a lot of refinement for the ripening period. The result is an excellent Premier Cru Cognac with an aroma reminiscent of ripe summer fruits and a wonderful display of the fruity softness of Coeur de Cognac.
More than half of the Eaux de Vie, which are exclusively from the year 1988, come from Rémy Martin s private estate in the heart of the Cognac region. This wine region is known for its particularly mild climate and chalky soil, making it the perfect growing conditions for producing the fruitiest Eaux de Vie.
The Vintage 1988 Remy Martin Premier Cru Cognac is one of only 3 Remy Martin Grande Champagne vintage bottlings bottled to date and is considered by connoisseurs and collectors to be one of the rarest and most exquisite vintage Cognacs on the market today.
