As it is a fine Champagne cognac, at least 51% comes from grande Champagne, the best cru of cognac. Rémy Martin Extra Fine Champagne Cognac was introduced in the 1920s, disappeared about 20 years later, but was reintroduced in the mid-1970s under the name Extra Centaure and is a blend of 20 to 50-year-old eaux-de-vie from the most prestigious crus of Cognac, consisting of 90% grande Champagne Cognac and 10% petite Champagne Cognac. These wine-growing regions are known for a particularly mild climate and the chalky soil, so that perfect growing conditions prevail here to produce the fruitiest and best Eaux de Vie. The exclusive Remy Martin Extra Fine Champagne Cognac was matured in small Limousin oak barrels, which gives it an excellent aromatic intensity.
