The very rare first bottling of the vintage 1999 Slyrs Bavarian single malt whisky, bottled after 3 year of maturation in new American oak casks in the year 2002 without the addition of colourants and chill filtration in an edition of 1.600 individually numbered bottles at 43.0% abv.
Since 1999, the first and only Bavarian malt whisky distillery Slyrs at the beautiful lake Schliersee has been distilling whisky from local barley malt and mountain spring water in the classic rough and fine distillation process using traditional production methods. The whisky matured in 225-litre new oak casks made of American white oak from the Missouri Ozark Forest and bottled in limited editions as a vintage spirit.
At the World Whiskies Awards, several Slyrs whiskies received high-ranking awards - in 2015, the Slyrs Classic was named Europe's best single malt under 12 years and the Slyrs Marsala was named Germany's best single malt whisky in 2017. At the International Wine and Spirit Competition 2021, Slyrs whiskies won silver 3 times.
The early bottlings from 2002 to 2005 of Slyrs Bavarian Single Malt Whisky are rarely found today and are now considered a special rarity among collectors - already in the year 2011, this rare vintage 1999 limited first bottling was sold at an internet auction for over € 800!
