Rare and selected Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky
The Speyside region is a wonderfully green and fertile area along the river Spey in the counties of Morayshire and Banffshire, it is thus actually back in the Highlands region. The Speyside region is the ancestral home of whisky production and its world-famous representatives, here are more than half of Scotch whisky distilleries. To date distilleries single malt whisky is produced in around 48th.
Speyside whiskys are generally rather sweet whiskys, have a slightly peaty character with classic aromas of fresh fruit and vanilla and honey, which are composed of complex, elegant and sophisticated single malt whiskys and are considered very elegant. With the appropriate age, they develop a sweet-spicy aroma with a hint of dried fruit, which is often reinforced by the storage in selected and aromatic sherry casks and ensures particularly complex aromas. A number of best Malts is exclusively used for blends. Malts as Mortlach, Glen Elgin, Strathmill, Glen Grant and Benrinnes are rare as distillery bottlings. Bottlings of Balvenie, Glenlivet, Macallan, Glenfiddich, Glenfarclas Glenrothes and are among the best Scotch whiskys in the world.
