A absolutely rare old bottling of the iconic 12 year old 100° Proof Springbank Campbeltown single malt Scotch whisky with the green thistle label, which was bottled in the mid-1990s without any added colouring or chill filtration at 50.0% vol. in a limited edition.
This stunning and old release was also bottled for the US market at the time and was nicknamed Double-Dark by members of the Plowed Society. Experts believe that this old Springbank bottling was made by diluting the strength of the regular 12-year-old whisky by using 30-36 year old under-proof casks from the legendary Springbank 1960s vintages, giving the bottles their rich dark colour.
