A rare and magnificent 18-year-old Springbank Campbeltown single malt Scotch whisky, distilled in the late 1980s / early 1990s and bottled after 18 years of maturation in selected sherry and bourbon casks with the silver capsule and purple box as the 1st batch / inaugural release in the year 2009 without the addition of colourants and chill filtration at 46.0% vol. in a limited edition.
The 18 years Springbak Campbeltown Single Malt Scotch whisky is still part of Springbank s standard range, is bottled every year in limited editions and is one of Springbank s most sought-after whiskies today. The early bottlings in particular show the wonderful and original Springbank character and are rarely found.
The 18 years Springbank Campbeltown Single Malt Scotch whisky is very balanced and pleasant, on the nose it is complex with sweet berries with smoke, espresso and notes of chewing gum and wax, the taste is very fruity and oily with chewing gum, violets and cassis, almonds, liquorice, sultanas, chocolate and fine sherry with a long, salty-maritine finish - a wonderful Springbank Single Malt Scotch whisky that can inspire.
