A rare and stunning vintage 1996 25 year old Springbank Campbeltown Single Malt Scotch Whisky distilled on 10th May 1996 and bottled after 25 years maturation in a fresh sherry hogshead with cask no. 74 in May 2021 as a private bottling by Springbank for M.A.L.T. Sonthofen with no added colouring or chill filtration in a limited edition of only 173 bottles at cask strength 49.0% vol.
Matured for 25 years in a fresh sherry hogshead, this terrific Springbank Campbeltown Single Malt Scotch Whisky impressively shows the special Springbank character and shines with wonderful notes of sherry, smoke and woody notes with a very long and intense finish.
The so-called private bottling formerly used by some distilleries to refinance, the freshly bottled whisky in one or more barrels were sold through the intermediary of a whisky trader or broker has to his birth and was then allowed to mature in the duty-free warehouse of the distillery.
