George T. Stagg was born in 1835 and founded the distillery near the Kentucky river in the 19th century, the golden age of bourbon whiskey, which traded under his name for over 100 years and is now known as Buffalo Trace. The distillery survived many crises and was one of the few American distilleries to survive Prohibition, as it was allowed to distil for medicinal purposes.
Like father, like son - Stagg whiskey is one of the best-known American bourbon whiskeys and today, like Buffalo Trace, belongs to the Sazerac Company and is also produced in the world-famous and renowned Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky.
The Stagg Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey matured for eight to nine years in selected American New Oak barrels, is bottled unblended and unfiltered at barrel proof and is in no way inferior to its spiritual father, the strictly limited George T.
