The great 12-year-old Hibiki Japan Premium Blended Whisky is without question one of the world s premium blends and was introduced by Suntory in the year 2009. Hibiki, which means harmony in Japanese, is a master blend of carefully selected 30 full-bodied malt and grain whiskies, which have been matured for at least 12 years in different types of cask and ensure its multi-award-winning complex flavour and a special taste experience. The blend is finished in casks in which Japanese liqueur made from the ume apricot previously matured. Finally, it is bottled filtered through bamboo charcoal.
The 12 years Suntory Hibiki Japan Blended Whisky impresses with its soft flavours, is mild and fresh with some tannin, sherry, citrus, lime and grapefruit and was awarded the gold medal at the International Spirits Challenge 2010. The 24 facets of the bottle symbolise the 24 seasons, which are known from the ancient tradition of Sekki, the old Japanese calendar.
The 12 years Suntory Hibiki Japan Blended Whisky is not only the most highly awarded blended whisky in Japan, but is also one of the most respected and recognised whiskies in the world today. Beam Suntory ceased production in the year 2015 and this extraordinary Hibiki Japan blended whisky is now rarely found.
