This rare vintage 2002 over 7 year old Thomas H. Handy Double Destilled Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey Fall of 2009 is the 4th release and one of only 9.499 bottles of the limited Buffalo Trace Antique Collection 2009 from the prestigious Buffalo Trace Distillery, the world-renowned whiskey brands such as Pappy Van Winkle, George T. Stagg, William Larue Weller, Sazerac Rye, Taylor Jr and Eagle Rare produced. With the Thomas H. Handy 6 Years Straight Rye Whiskey Spring of 2002, Buffalo Trace created a very intense and complex dark amber colored rye whisky and shows the special art of the American whiskey handwork.

Rye Whiskey that dates back to the 1800 s, around the time when saloons, veiled as Coffee Houses, began lining the streets of New Orleans. It was at the Sazerac Coffee House on Royal Street where local patrons were served toddies made with Rye Whiskey and Peychaud s Bitters. The libation became known as the Sazerac and America s first branded cocktail was born. This is the whiskey that started it all.
